You all know that I have moved to Utah and am living in a little apartment by my work while Emily and I look for a house. Unfortunately my expectations and reality hasn't lined up very well so we've been making adjustments... mostly just me :). Emily had done extensive research before this and so knew more of what to expect.
So, I knew once all this started I wouldn't feel like blogging but I don't want the distance to get much greater between posts (4 months!). I'm sure we will post all about our new home when we finally find one... and we will probably have a BIG party. I've always wanted to have a reception so I can get presents* but Emily thinks a house warming party might be more kosher. Well, not really kosher cuz we aren't Jewish... maybe more acceptable is a better description.
Anyway... We all read blogs to look at the pictures so here are a couple. There are some cute ones I took during the Christmas holidays but I thought I'd save those for later. I know when I read blogs of my family I'm really interested in the here and now, not the catching up part. So I'll do here and now and maybe catch up later.
First Question... How do you get a VERY heavy lemon tree pot into the back of your subaru?
First you put it on the upturned water pot thing, lift it a little higher onto a flower pot, up to a little bigger flower pot, and then onto the table where you can lift it into your arms and stagger to your car... I might add this was all done in a skirt :)
Second Question... what would I have done without this wonderful friend and helper?
I know I already posted on Facebook about Pat but she came right over when I panic texted her (she started it by checking up on me), cleaned the upstairs bathroom, took me out to breakfast so we both wouldn't have a nervous breakdown (she had just learned she was to be the next Relief Society president), vacummed my whole house while trying to reign in my over cleaning tendencies, and let me stay at her house that night... even providing pajamas.
I'd say that is true friendship. Here I am leaving with my VERY packed car (and the same clothes I wore the day before).
Third Question: How much can you get into a subaru?
Quite alot. I wanted the movers to pack the home depot buckets but apparently they thought they were garbage and put them out. I went back in the morning to see if I could fit them into my car. I got them in on the passenger side over the broom, mop, and vacuum... along with alot of other leftover stuff.
I'm done with the questions. Here is a picture I took that I want Bethanie to paint.
Emily and I were wandering around one Saturday night in the zion's Mercantile store. She has been nice and letting me stay at her house and hang out with her on the weekends.
Too bad if she had other plans! We've actually been looking at houses for the past couple weeks. We're trying not to be too picky... and to be reasonable. Its been hard :)

I'm on the 5th floor but the music was pounding through my office. It was a little crazy. The building I'm in is a cool old renovated place and apparently these receptions happen alot. I asked a coworker if they ever go down and crash the party for free food but he said no...

*I've given many a reception or shower present but never had one of my own... So instead of being bitter I'll throw myself a reception! I'll buy a pretty dress and invite all my family and friends to the temple! Afterwords we will eat cake and open presents (don't care whats in 'em, just like opening things!). My Vegas VT is very glad I didn't do it while I was still there...
