May 2017 - Birthday, Wedding, Memorial Day...

Gonna put the posting date as June...

For my birthday Susan (boss) brought me fruit pizza!

She is very thoughtful.

No pictures of the birthday because... I didn't take any :)  Gage and I celebrated on Sunday so we had everybody at our house.  It worked out pretty good cuz we just burned wieners outside!

Bailey, Aaron and I drove down to Mesa for Carly's wedding. I forgot that Carly had been living with us for a couple of weeks to cover the time between her housing contract expiring and getting married.

I had decided to drive because although Allegiant flies from Provo to Mesa, the flights weren't at the best times.  And I could make Aaron come with me and Bailey could come along for the ride. An hour or 2 out, we blew a tire.  Nice.

You know what... I don't remember a 11 hour drive being quite so long!  It was beautiful going down by the grand canyon area but... I'm getting old.

Mom and Dad fed us when we got there though so then all was right with the world again.  I had some aspirations of getting there early enough to attend the bridal shower but the 2 hr tire fiasco put a crimp in those plans.  Missing the I-15 turnoff didn't help either.

But it was beautiful and warm for the wedding the next day!

More waiting! It was a beautiful day.

Afterwards we got to go to a Mexican restaurant which was very good.  The open house was lovely (James family has a beautiful home) and we went back to the hotel soon after the music started getting louder.  Didn't end up needing to take any presents back to Utah for the new couple so we left bright and early the next morning. Remind me next time to fly.  I think Emily enjoyed the couple days alone though :)

On Memorial Sunday we (Jared and Amy and family too) went to a cemetery in Salt Lake City set apart for those not of the LDS faith.  Emily had made a beautiful bouquet out of our garden flowers and after many hours of searching we found the grave we were looking for...

And that's all the pictures I took.

Memorial Day we, along with the dogs, went to the ceremony at the Bluffdale cemetery.

Daisy did not like the gun salute.

Think this was going back home afterwards.

That evening I wanted to play in some water.  We tried a few places that didn't work and so finally drove down around Utah Lake.

It was alot of fun because the lake was so full!

It was a very gradual slope.

Needless to say, the dogs LOVED it.

April 2017

Here's the April post...

April General Conference... don't know why I didn't get a picture of the food spread again :).

Then I went to a 3-day Structures conference in Denver..  Was happy I had early Easter candy to keep me awake.

Huh?  Had some weird stuff in Denver.

I had mentioned Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in a conversation so Susan decided we would eat there one evening... It was delicious! But oh so expensive. I was a little worried my company wouldn't reimburse THAT much.

There was quite a bit of time spent in my coworkers' company. We were all/both grateful when it was over.

Saw this in the Airport...

Had never seen one of those before!

Easter.  Everyone gets a basket!

Unfortunately it wasn't a surprise that the tomb (muffin) was empty...  Still learning!

When it got warmer Emily pulled the carrots in the garden.  Some looked like chicken feet!

Rest of the garden done by the rototiller (which Aaron got running!)...

A greasy spring spronged him right in the middle of his forehead!

Finally sold the old cream separator since Mom and Dad got us one for Christmas 2 years ago. (IE, dropped the price enough...)

It snowed again, April 28th.. see the tulips in the snow.

And Jenny and Tom came up for Josephs baby blessing!  So we went out to eat..

No pictures at the blessing of course :).

Some Spring (Feb and Mar) 2017 Happenings...

Amy is posting up a storm... I'm pretending I posted this in April.

Feb: in addition to Tulips babies being born, Spots decided to get into the babies pen (babies were still to young to be put in there).

I just thought it was so cute with her head sticking out.

We also did hot pot for Sunday dinner once..

Fun, but a lot of work.

The meat was a big hit :)

A Sunday in March we finally ripped up the kitchen floor (Dishwasher had leaked and made an underlay swell).. half our kitchen had been pulled up so we pulled up the rest.

And then pounded down the nails...Who made the pregnant lady help?

Mom made us beautiful rice heat pads so I had to show Mom how we were using them..

Aaron made some excellent pies for pie day (3.14.17)

Gage is always king of the poops!

He also likes to mess with the Walnut (the drake)..

Aaron plowed half the garden before the little tractor died...
